Are you sure your content is aligned with the right search queries? Do you really know what your target audience is looking for — or are you missing potential customers and revenue because you are relying on assumptions?
Without in-depth keyword and prompt research, you risk targeting the wrong queries and overlooking important topics.
We do the heavy lifting for you: we find the right keywords and prompts, prioritize them by potential, and make sure your content reaches future customers.
Why should keyword and prompt research be the starting point of every SEO strategy?
Why is keyword research important?
Keyword research is a core component of search engine optimization (SEO). It involves the systematic identification and analysis of search queries that users enter into search engines such as Google to find information, products, or services.
Targeted keyword research therefore lays the foundation for your SEO strategy by revealing the topics that are truly relevant to your audience.
What is the difference between keyword and prompt research?
In the field of generative engine optimization (GEO), prompt research is indispensable. Anyone who wants to optimize their presence in ChatGPT (Search) and similar systems first needs a clear picture of which topics truly matter to their target audience in order to derive prompts that can be tracked in language models.
The basis for prompt research is often keyword research. Users usually do not search for different topics in LLMs — they simply do so in a different way. Keyword research is therefore the foundation for identifying meaningful prompts, especially since LLMs do not yet provide prompt or search volume data.
Keyword and prompt research in detail: our approach to your success
Keyword and prompt research should be more than simply identifying search terms. That is why we structure our research around several coordinated building blocks:
Identification of relevant keywords
Using your input and proven SEO tools — including our own — we specifically identify relevant keywords for your business areas and services. In addition, we analyze the keyword strategies of your direct and indirect competitors and incorporate these insights into our keyword research.
Data enrichment
The keywords are enriched with additional data, including:
- monthly search volume
- competitive intensity and CPC
- search intent
- current ranking position and ranking URL
- traffic potential
Clustering
We group and bundle semantically similar search terms into meaningful clusters — data-driven and efficient. Using our tool, we analyze the top 10 Google results for all keywords and calculate the so-called “SERP overlap score.” Keywords whose search results overlap strongly are automatically grouped together.
Definition of primary and secondary keywords
For each cluster, we define one primary keyword and the corresponding secondary keywords.
The primary keyword determines the core focus of the page, while the secondary keywords provide thematic depth. This ensures that your content is not only perfectly aligned with one central keyword, but also comprehensively covers relevant subtopics, synonyms, and user questions.
Identification of keyword gaps
Based on the identified queries, your current rankings, and your competitors’ positions, we uncover untapped topic areas and keyword fields. We do not just reveal weaknesses in your existing keyword strategy, but also new growth opportunities. This helps you capture relevant topics that have so far been overlooked but offer strong potential for your business.
Identification of relevant prompts
The researched and clustered primary and secondary keywords form the basis for prompt research. For each topic cluster, prompts are identified and prioritized using tools (e.g., our SEO prompter) based on the keywords.
These prompts can then be stored in LLM monitoring tools to track the performance and visibility of your domain in LLMs. This makes it possible to check whether you are present for certain topics and whether content needs to be optimized or newly created.
Development of an information architecture
A well-designed information architecture ensures a logical structure and interlinking of content and forms the foundation of a user-friendly and search-optimized website.
We define which content belongs in which directories and subdirectories and how URLs should be structured optimally.
Depending on your needs, we optimize your existing architecture or develop a completely new information architecture. We match keywords to the appropriate URLs (so-called “keyword-to-URL mapping”).
Content strategy
Based on the prioritized search queries and prompts, we develop your content strategy:
Topic prioritization:
Evaluation of topics with the greatest SEO potential, relevance in LLMs, and highest impact for your business.
Content formats:
Recommendations for page types, formats, and media assets — aligned with your target keywords and relevant prompts.
Action-oriented planning:
Creation of an editorial calendar that defines when which content is created — including seasonal peaks.
Creation of writer briefs
On request, we provide a comprehensive writer brief with all relevant information for your editors or content creators.
This includes:
- the most important search terms
- semantically relevant terms
- core user questions
We also integrate insights from the competitive analysis: which topics competitors cover — and where you can differentiate with stronger, more valuable content.
We offer research both for your entire website and for individual sections or product groups.
The outcome of our keyword and prompt research
- Keyword and prompt set (Excel): a structured list of all relevant keywords and prompts — clustered, prioritized, and clearly prepared for your further strategic planning.
- Results presentation (up to 60 minutes): presentation of the findings, strategic interpretation, and time for your questions — in person or remote.
- Add-on packages (optional): on request, you receive additional recommendations on topics such as information architecture or content strategy.
Data-driven keyword and prompt research: precision over gut feeling
All keyword research conducted by ONE Beyond Search is based on a data-driven approach that combines methodological expertise with leading SEO tools such as keywordtool.io, ahrefs, SEMrush, and Sistrix. We use these tools to analyze the keyword strategies of your competitors and derive valuable insights for your own strategy. We also integrate performance data for your already ranking keywords from Google Search Console.
In addition, we tap into various application programming interfaces (“APIs”) to enrich our analyses with further data and insights. One example is the “People Also Ask” API, which we use to identify questions and topics that matter to your target audience.
